Strong finishes in Virginia

???Down in Virginia for the weekend, the men's and women's track and field teams braced poor weather conditions and competed in the Colonial Relays and the Liberty Collegiate Invitational.

???At the Colonial Relays, the men finished in eighth place with 43 points and the women placed fourth with 80 points.

???William and Mary, the host, took advantage of racing at home and won both fields.

???Bulls senior Fatima Hill continued her successful season and won the triple jump event with a distance of 12.20 meters.

???Senior Tina Villa captured the shot put event and freshman Kristy Woods finished second.

Senior Mary Veith continued the women's success with a second-place finish in the 5,000-meter run.

???Junior Jake Madonia finished second in both the discus throw and the shot put for the men.

???Sophomore Matt Gac's second-place toss in the hammer throw gave him an NCAA East Regional qualifying mark.

???In the 400-meters, junior Ezekiel Porter came in fifth place and sophomore Justin Craddock followed with a sixth-place finish in the 800-meters event.

???At the Liberty Collegiate Invitational, Russell Cameron finished fourth in the decathlon and senior Caitlin Godin won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.65 seconds.

???The Bulls hope to continue their recent success when they head to Akron, Ohio on Friday for the Akron Invitational.
