Coaching changes for football team

Allen Mogridge, last year's offensive line coach on the football team, has left the squad to pursue other interests at North Carolina University. With this loss, head coach Turner Gill has swapped around some positions and made a few promotions.

Aaron Stamn will be replacing Mogridge after serving on the coaching staff for three seasons as the tight end and special teams coach. During his tenure, he was integral in helping Ben Woods and A.J. Principe achieve numerous personal feats.

Joe Daily, who was a graduate assistant coach for the offense, has been promoted to the tight end coaching position. He previously played under Gill as a quarterback at Nebraska before finishing his collegiate career at North Carolina.

Taking over the special teams coordinating duties will be Lee Chambers and Jarod Dodson. Chambers, formally the running backs coach, helped James Starks in his development. Dodson was recently added to the cornerbacks coaching staff.

Gill is optimistic about the future of the coaching staff.

"We have an excellent coaching staff with great chemistry within it, and I am confident that our team will benefit from these changes," Gill said in a press release.
