Framing Hanley set to play Spring Fest

The Student Association announced Thursday that alternative rockers Framing Hanley are the second act scheduled to play at Spring Fest 2009, set to take place on Saturday, April 25.

Framing Hanley joins the line-up that currently includes fellow alternative rock band Brand New, solidifying SA's intention to bring a more traditional rock festival experience to UB.

The act based out of Nashville, Tenn., is best known for their remake of Lil Wayne's "Lollipop," which is featured on their first studio album released in 2007, The Moment, and has received frequent airplay on alternative rock radio stations across the country.

The group consists of lead singer Kenneth Nixon, guitarists Ryan Belcher and Brandon Wootten, bassist Luke McDuffee and drummer Chris Vest.

The quintet received their big break after former Creed band member Brett Hestla heard some of the band's demos on its MySpace page.

The scheduled stop at UB is part of a nationwide tour Framing Hanley has just embarked on this spring. The band will be sharing the stage for a select amount of shows with rap rockers Hollywood Undead and capping off their tour by playing at the hard rock music festival Rock on the Range 2009 on May 17 in Columbus, Ohio.
