A slice of New York

???Students tired of canned tomatoes, frozen vegetables and sunburned slivers that chew like leather will no longer have to travel to South Campus for a savory slice of love.

Zetti's Pizza and Pasta, the Italian restaurant across from South Campus, has recently opened another nearby location at 4621 Maple Road, right across from the Flint entrance on North Campus.

???Those who know anything about starting a business are aware that location is a primary aspect to a successful production. So, it was no surprise that John Fusco, owner of Zetti's Pizza and Pasta, strategically placed both restaurants near the UB campuses.

???"It was a great decision," Fusco said. "[The students] right across from UB South Campus treated me very well, so I figured that I would get the same response from them over here. It had a lot to do with it."

???With pizzerias surrounding the North Campus community, some students may question Fusco's decision to add another one in a similar location. However, he suggests that Zetti's food is different from the competition and that his business has the ability to strive in the community.

???"It's a different product," Fusco said. "If you enjoy Buffalo pizza, and you don't like New York Style pizza, then you're not going to eat here, but that's okay."

???So why is Zetti's such a popular restaurant among students at UB?

???With a substantial amount of students originating from the New York City area, Zetti's New York Style pizza reminds them of the warmth and comfort of home.

???For others, the generous portions and surprising healthiness in comparison to other pizza places is enough of an incentive to dine at Zetti's.

???"They have really big slices and it's not greasy," said Ashley Cook, a sophomore undecided major.

???But when it comes right down to it, the taste is what gets students going back for more.

???"I thought it [the pizza] was very good and the crust was excellently baked. It was just good," said Miles Fonda, a junior communication major.

???While many pizza parlors are limited to familiar ingredients and concoctions, Zetti's gourmet pies are as unique as they are appetizing.

???The Big Daddy gourmet pizza gives consumers a choice of any six items, allowing them to construct a meal according to their own personal tastes. Others like the Eggplant Sorrentino, Barbeque Chicken and Chicken Parmesan put patrons' favorite entrees into pizza form.

Those who just want a slice of cheese and pepperoni can look to spend a little over $3, but if you're a big eater and want to get enough to share, $10.95 will be sufficient for a delectable large pizza.

??? The wide variety of dishes such as salads, pastas, calzones and heroes prove that Zetti's is more than just a pizza place.

???According to Fusco, in addition to the pizza, two of their other popular items that students are eager to order are the chicken rolls and penne a la vodka.

??? Students who are looking for a more traditional meal can find a number of delicious dinners, such as Italian-style spaghetti for $7.95, and fettuccine alfredo for $8.95. ???

???In addition to their moderately low prices, students are drawn to the freedom to use Campus Cash at the eatery's South Campus location. Although the new location on Maple Road does not currently offer this service, they plan on having it available by May.

???So, if you happen to be on either North or South Campus the next time the moon hits your eye, go grab a pizza pie or some pasta from Zetti's.
