A comeback single, a new wave hip-hop sample and a smooth re-master of a Snow Patrol classic are currently plastering the airwaves with new tunes this week.
1) Kelly Clarkson - "My Life Would Suck Without You"
Back after her commercially unsuccessful third album, My December, the original American Idol returns to the roots that made her successful in the first place: female empowering pop/rock. Reminiscent of her hugely successful single "Since U Been Gone," "My Life" uses the same formula of catchy chorus and witty sarcasm.
2) Flo Rida - "Right Round"
After a chart-topping smash single like "Low" featuring T-Pain, one would wonder how you could top that. Flo samples Dead or Alive's "You Spin Me Round" and cranks out yet another club banger that is sure to get everyone dancing. There is nothing to hate about this song. It's perfect for the car, the club, and radio.
3) Leona Lewis - "Run"
Not many covers have been as well received as their original, but that certainly isn't the case with Lewis's brand new rendition of Snow Patrol's "Run." There is not much to say except that Lewis's version is flawless and will leave you covered in goose bumps. This is just as good, if not better than the original.
4) The Dream - "Rockin' That Thang"
The self-proclaimed 'Radio Killa' is back with his sophomore album and still wants to prove to the world that he is more than just the brains behind Rihanna's smash "Umbrella." He definitely does not fail to do so on this track. Everything about this song is hot and doesn't stray from his signature sound and vibe. Similar to his previous smash "Shawty Is A Ten," "Thang" is a track that can be played in the club and one you can slow bop to. The Dream makes it known that he's one of the few producers that can make the crossover from behind the mic to the front of the stage.
