United side projects

When not ripping his vocal cords preparing for Thursday, lead singer Geoff Rickley has been spending his days working on the controversial side project United Nations.

Labeled as a grindcore megagroup, the other rumored members of the band include veteran vocalist Daryl Palumbo of GlassJaw fame and Converge drummer Ben Koller.

Due to contractual obligations, however, the only member of the band officially listed is Rickley.

After being forcefully removed from their Facebook and Myspace pages by the actual United Nations, the band trudged along and released their self-titled debut to much controversy revolving around the album's cover.

Issuing a warning to all other hardcore acts, United Nations featured machine gun drumming and enough political lyricism to make Conor Oberst blush.

Despite continuously touring with Thursday, Rickley is planning on releasing a second full length entitled Dark Side of the UN next year.
