???Since September, the Student Association (SA) has withheld your subscription fee of $1 per semester from The Spectrum.
???Despite two previous rulings, one from the Erie County Court and one from the Student-Wide Judiciary, SA contends that their refusal to give The Spectrum the fee is justified.
???SA President Peter Grollitsch and Treasurer John Martin have prolonged their negotiations with The Spectrum for six months, refusing to even respond to the newspaper's proposals and forcing The Spectrum to resort to litigation.
???The Spectrum stands on the brink of a court case - one that SA will fight using your student dollars for attorney's fees, and one that surely will be lost based on past precedence.
???The money is currently being used as leverage against the newspaper - your student government's attempt at taking away uncensored editorial content from this paper by castrating its finances.
???We've heard from you. Now make Grollitsch and Martin listen. E-mail them at pag7@buffalo.edu and at jjmartin@buffalo.edu and encourage them to transfer the fee to The Spectrum. Stop by The Spectrum office at 132 Student Union and sign a petition to make your voice heard.
???Your Student Mandatory Activity Fee has increased enough. Don't let another increase become necessary to quash the only independent newspaper on campus.
