Willy earns spot in Senior Game
Senior quarterback Drew Willy has been invited and accepted an invitation to play in the Western Refining "Texas Versus the Nation" game in El Paso, Texas on Saturday, Jan. 31.
Willy will represent "The Nation", returning to El Paso where he spent part of his life as a young child.
The game, in its third season, will be played at the Sun Bowl with kickoff at 11 a.m. It will be televised on CBS College Sports Network.
Last year, Oakland Raiders defensive end and UB alumnus Trevor Scott became the first player to participate in the game.
Miller earns conference honor
Bulls swimmer Chad Miller was named MAC Swimmer of the Week after sweeping the sprint events by placing first place in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard freestyle.
He also anchored the men's 200-yard freestyle relay, which finished in first place.
Men's track and field earns MAC award
The men's track and field team earned the Mid-American Conference's weekly indoor track award this past week.
Buffalo earned the award after junior sprinter Ezekial Porter won the league's men's track award and sophomore thrower Matt Gac won the men's field award.
Gac's toss of 18.94 meters broke his previous school record of 18.32 meters.
