If you already made it to class this Halloween, be sure to cruise through the Student Union for UB's ninth annual Haunted Union celebration.
In the Union lobby from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be free donuts and cider, pumpkin carving, a costume contest and, according to the Student Affairs Web site, "so much more."
Also many offices throughout the Union will be participating in a Trick or Treat decoration competition. Students are encouraged to stop in, get some candy and vote for the office that did the best job.
Scaredy cats and the weak-hearted might want to avoid the Student Association's "Haunted House," which sprawls through 145 Student Union (enter through room 145B, next to the ATMs). Terrifying tours will be given from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and again from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. on Friday.
Erin Bell, a freshman undecided major, recommended the free fright fest after taking a tour on Thursday.
"I'd rate it an eight out of 10 for scary," she said.
Alex Falconio, a freshman undecided major, said she and her friends had to wait "for boys to come walk with us."
"We're too scared to go in alone," she said.
After surviving the tour's twists and turns, Falconio and her friends agreed that Brady Cohen, a freshman accounting major, was "probably the most scared."
"But," she said, "that's because we made him go first."
