Homecoming Week brings carnival fare

???After the sun sank into the horizon on Friday evening, the Student Association (SA) Homecoming Carnival illuminated the night sky with a Ferris wheel and fireworks finale.

???From a distance the bright lights from rides such as the paratrooper and the towering rock climbing wall attracted students to the carnival grounds next to the campus bookstore.

???Students waited in line under a giant white tent for burgers, curly fries and funnel cakes while local bands such as More Than Me and Off the Cuff entertained the massive line of people. Surrounding the area were traditional carnival games like Whac-A-Mole, basketball toss and ball toss to win goldfish.

???According to Marc Rosenblitt, entertainment coordinator and professional staff member for SA, thousands of students attended the SA-sponsored event.

???"We were expecting a little lower turnout because of the weather, but people did end up coming out," Rosenblitt said. "It's a traditional event that's been around for more than 30 years. And it's really supposed to be a pep rally, to get people's spirits up for the game on Saturday."

???The night ended with a bonfire where chilly students warmed up and watched a fireworks display overhead.
