Honors for Koeppel

Jenny Koeppel is at it again. The women's track and field star is picking up right where she left off last semester, earning Mid-American Conference athlete of the week honors for her performance at Penn State last week.

Koeppel earned that award four times last semester as she won four races. She also was named the MAC scholar athlete of the week twice last semester.

Koeppel earned this week's award after her record-setting performance in the 5,000-meter race at the Penn State invitational last Saturday. She broke her own school record with a time of 16:55.18, cutting 23 seconds off her previous best. Her finish in the 5,000-meter race earned her a provisional ECAC championship berth in March.

This is the first MAC athlete of the week award for the women's indoor track and field team this season.

Buffalo's women's indoor track and field team will be in action again this Saturday at Syracuse.

Three way meet

The women's swim team's meet versus Akron, which was cancelled on Jan. 22, was rescheduled for this upcoming weekend. The meet is now scheduled for Friday night in Bowling Green, Ohio. The Bulls will face both the Zips and the Bowling Green Falcons.
