Women's Soccer

Brenna McJury and Courtney MacVie received postseason accolades for their performance this season. McJury was named to the all-MAC team for the second year in a row. Though McJury played in only ten games for the Bulls this year, she was a solid defender for the squad. McJury helped lead the Bulls to three shutouts on the year. She also helped to lead the Bulls into overtime on two other occasions. In addition to her stellar defensive play, McJury was also important to the Bulls offense this year, as she sparked the forward line with two assists on the season.

Courtney MacVie was named to the all-MAC newcomer team following her solid performance in the wake of McJury's injury. Because of that injury, MacVie was inserted into the sweeper position on defense. The freshman played an integral role in the Bulls' 4-4-1 finish, and also played an all-important role for the offense in the Bulls' two most important victories of the year. MacVie assisted on the go-ahead goal in UB's 2-1 victory over Marshall. She also assisted on the game-winning goal in the last game of the season, a victory over Cornell.


Football

After having different captains for every game so far this year, UB Head Coach Jim Hofher finally named permanent captains for the team. Using a popular vote to choose the captains, four players were selected to represent the team as captains for the last three games of the season. Three seniors and a junior were voted to represent the team as captains. Seniors J.J. Gibson, Erik Zeppuhar, and Matt Knueven are all four-year starters since joining the Bulls. Zeppuhar has been an anchor on the offensive line, especially this year, giving the running attack many chances to be successful. Kneuvan led the team in receiving in the 2002-2003 season and is leading the team in receiving so far this year too. Gibson has been he team's leader on defense and has played in every game since beginning his collegiate career for the Bulls.

The lone junior named captain is Bryan Cummings. Cummings is a three-year starter, currently ranked fifth on the team in tackles this season, with 45.
