Four runners from UB's cross-country team were named to the Academic All-MAC team for their performance in the classroom. Ben Cady, Jen Jezorski, Jennie Donofrio, and Jenny Koeppel were honored for earning stellar grades, while having to balance practice and workouts in combination with schoolwork.

Cady, a senior English major, turned in a top 8K time this season of 26:18 at the Paul Short Invitational on Sept. 25. He also recently finished 38th at the MAC Championships in Toledo on Oct. 30 with a time of 26.47.60. Off the track, Cady has compiled a 3.763 GPA.

A junior speech and hearing science major, Jezorski has been able to keep her 3.611 GPA all the while placing in the top 10 on four different occasions this year.

Donofrio, a junior exercise science major, currently owns an impressive 3.986 GPA. Her top finish this season was a sixth place finish at the 2004 UB Open. She also broke the 20-minute mark at the 2004 MAC Championships in Toledo with a time of 19:38.95.

Adding to her already long list of accomplishments this year, Koeppel has earned a 3.630 GPA, while consistently being UB's top female runner in every race this season. She has won four races, including a first place finish at the 2004 MAC Championships. She also clocked a time of 17:49 at the Central Collegiate meet earlier this year. Koeppel won the MAC female runner of the week award four times this season. This is the third time she has earned academic All-MAC honors. The other two times occurred during the 2003 cross-country season and during the 2004 outdoor track and field season.
