"KNOCK, KNOCK, WANDA'S HERE"

As people decide who will make a better presidential choice, President George W. Bush or Senator John Kerry, one thing was decided for certain Thursday night as Wanda Sykes brought her "Cotton T-Shirt Tour" to the Center for the Arts.

"That no matter who we all choose we are screwed one way or another. We just have to figure out how hard we want to be screwed. Kerry wears a rubber and Bush likes it raw. Take your pick."

Sykes, who is well known for her appearances on HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and who currently has a new show on Comedy Central called "Wanda Does It," took the microphone to kick off the East Coast part of the tour. The quick-tongued Sykes took on topics ranging everywhere from bad sex to plastic surgery.

Early on, she ran into noticeable trouble when she seemed to have forgotten her own joke. She was talking about how annoying kids always wind up on airline flights.

"A rule should be established that if a kid is really annoying, by the time the plane reaches an altitude of 10,000 feet they should be tossed out. I would not say I would do it, but lets keep our options open," said Sykes. During the joke she was able to regain her train of thought and was still able to pull off some laughs from the audience.

Sykes's unique high-pitched delivery and obvious passion to make people laugh is not only what separates her from other female comedian, but most male comedians as well.

The rest of Wanda's routine was pretty much flawless. She remarked how one boobie screwed things up for everyone, referring to Janet Jackson's Super Bowl Halftime incident.

"That t-- did not even impress me. First off it just fell out. I was sitting there thinking 'Wow a Janet Jackson t--,' but you would expect the nipple to do a dance for the halftime show or something."

Over Wanda's career she has received numerous accolades. She took home an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music, or Comedy Special for HBO's "The Chris Rock Show." In 1999 she received the American Comedy Award for Funniest Female Stand-Up Comic. In 2003, Sykes had her own television comedy special, "Tongue Untied."

Her natural wit is always apparent. In her interview with The Spectrum after her performance she had a few words to pitch her new show.

"It's the funniest show in the world and if you don't watch my show 'Wanda Does It,' you will get the flu."

Fans will be getting a plethora of Wanda entertainment this upcoming year, between her recently released first book, "Yeah, I Said It," and film roles. With all that Wanda has accomplished in her career she said that she is still waiting for the opportunity to host "Saturday Night Live."

On Thursday night, though, she still found the time to joke about one topic she won't stand for: bad sex.

"I will boo! Right next to my bed I keep an air horn and if it sucks, the air horn goes off. Game over!"
