Women's Soccer
The University at Buffalo's women's soccer team lost a 1-0 game to Bowling Green State University. BGSU's lone goal was scored by Kristy Coppes just four minutes in. Following Coppes' goal, the defenses took over for both teams. UB's Anna-Lesa Calvert made 12 saves and the Falcons' goalkeeper Ali Shingler made eight saves of her own. Bowling Green was able to outshoot the Bulls by a 24-10 margin, but the Bulls' defense was steadfast and didn't give up any other goals for the duration of the game.
UB was unable to capitalize on its two legitimate scoring opportunities, one of which came very late in the game. In the 89th minute, Jenny Dannecker was able to lure Shingler out of the net while Dannecker got a shot off that passed the keeper, but sailed over the net and harmlessly beyond the back line.

Football
James Evans earned MAC East division co-defensive player of the week honors for his performance against the Miami RedHawks on Saturday. He had a career-best eight solo tackles, recorded the first sack of his career, forced a fumble, had two pass deflections and marked a team-leading third interception. Evans' impressive stat line marked the third occasion that a Bull has received player of the week honors.
