Senior pole vaulter Laura Olson finished Saturday's 77th Annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin and tied for 12th place among the nation's top 18 athletes. Olson concluded the event with the top mark of 12-3.50 (3.75m). Olson qualified for May's NCAA East Regionals last week after clearing the 12-9.50 (3.90m) mark. Olson is currently UB's record holder in the pole vault with an outstanding 13-1.75 (4.01m).
Softball cancellation
Both Saturday and Sunday's games versus Kent State at Nan Harvey field were cancelled due to inclement weather.
Local Pro Hockey
The Buffalo Sabres were unable to clinch a playoff berth in this weekend's season finale. Buffalo finished the season on a low note, losing to the Montreal Canadiens 6-3. The Sabres were knocked out of the final Eastern playoff spot by the New York Islanders, who finished the season with 90 points overall.
