Men's Tennis
Buffalo finished off their three-match series on Sunday with a loss against Ball State, 6-1. Buffalo now drops to 7-11 overall, 1-3 in the Mid-American Conference.
Randy Rocchio and Nick Zieziula picked up a win in the first singles match against Matt Baccarani and Patrick Thompson, 8-6, but due to losses in the numbers two and three doubles matches, UB was unable to score the doubles point.
Rangga Prayudha prevented a Ball State shutout by winning his number five singles match against Brad Rhodes, 6-4, 6-3.
The Bulls final regular season match is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. at Toledo.
Track & Field
UB Men's and Women's track teams ventured to Athens, OH this weekend for competition against teams including Kent State, Marshall and Toledo.
Buffalo's women finished second overall out of 13 teams, with Kent State taking first. Jennifer Jezorski won the 1500-meter race in a personal best of 4:41.74 and the 800-meter run in 2:18.14. Jenny Koeppel came in right behind Jezorski in the 1500-meter race and ran her way to fifth place in the 800-meter.
UB Men's team took a close third just a quarter-point behind Ohio. Kent State also took first place in the men's competition of 12 teams. Reggie Rucker took first place in the long jump with 22-8 and in the triple jump with 47-1.75. Steve Elser's 6-8 jump in the high jump garnered him first place.
Both the men and the women head to the Bison Outdoor Classic on Friday and Saturday in Lewisburg, Penn.
Softball
Today's game scheduled at Niagara is cancelled due to poor field conditions and inclement weather. UB will venture to Akron this weekend for a three game series. Friday's game is scheduled for 3 p.m. and Saturday's double-header will start at 1 p.m.
