BJ Walker
In last Wednesday's edition of The Spectrum, it was reported that BJ Walker may or may not be currently enrolled at UB due to his lack of presence in Alumni Arena, the UB basketball team's stomping grounds. Walker however, is in fact currently enrolled at UB despite the fact he is seeking to transfer out of Buffalo.
Women's Swimming
Jennefer Brankovsky of the women's swimming and diving team was named the Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the Week on Monday.
Brankovsky earned the award by garnering two first-place individual finishes and a relay victory in the Bulls 183-117 win over Cornell Saturday. Brankovsky set a season best time in the 100 m breaststroke, finishing in 1:07.03.
She then won the 500 m freestyle in 5:10.96. Brankovsky finished her big day on the 400 freestyle relay team, which swam a season-best 3:34.58.
Women's Tennis
The Bulls dropped their spring season opener by a score of 4-3 to Duquesne on Sunday.
UB's Miglena Nenova beat Duquesne's Katie Riedinger, 6-0, 6-1 in first singles. In the second singles the Bulls' Kristen Ortman scored a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Alina Klinova. The two teamed up for UB's only win in doubles, as they beat Riedinger and Jackie Hughes, 8-6
Erica Zielinski picked up a singles win to round out the Bulls' winners. She beat Ciara McDermott 6-2, 1-6 1-0 (10-8).
