UB Women's Swimming

Jennefer Brankovsky was named the Mid-American Conference Woman Scholar Athlete of the Week.

Brankovsky powered UB to a173-127 win over St. Bonaventure with three individual victories. She also notched two wins and a second-place finish against Akron. She won the 200 M freestyle, 100 M butterfly and 200 M individual medley against St. Bonaventure. At Akron she once again took the 200 M freestyle and 200 M individual medley and she came in second in the 100 M butterfly,

UB Softball

With just a few weeks to go before the season kicks off, the UB Softball team has found out just how tough this year's competition will be. The preseason polls have two UB opponents ranked in the Top 25 and another receiving votes.

UB kicks off the season at the Georgia Invitational, where they will face off with the No. 7 ranked Bulldogs.

Buffalo then plays in the Arizona State Tournament. The host Sun Devils are currently No. 20.

Buffalo will also play Marshall, who is receiving votes in the ESPN poll. They play at the Tennessee-Chattanooga Frost Classic on Feb. 28 and then will host them in a conference series at the beginning of May.

Buffalo Sabres

The Sabres play a home and home series tonight and Saturday with the struggling New York Rangers. The Sabres are coming off a 4-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens Tuesday night. The Rangers added Jaromir Jagr last week, but lost Eric Lindros to the eighth concussion of his career. Both games start at 7 p.m. and can be seen on Empire Sports.
