Volleyball
Nikki Morzenti was named to the 2003 All-Mid-American Conference Freshman Team. Morzenti was second on the team behind Lindsay Matikosh with 331 kills, the most ever by a UB freshmen. The team finished with a record of 11-20, while going 5-11 in the conference. It was the best conference record for the team since joining Division I-A.
Wrestling
UB announced the signing of Mickey Moran, from Shaler, Pa, and Scott Rendos from Brockway, Pa. Both wrestlers are listed in Intermat's Top 200 Recruits of 2004-05. Moran will be wrestling at either 164 or 174 pounds, while Rendos will wrestle at either the 149 or 157 weight class.
MAC Football
Marshall defeated the University of Central Florida on national television Wednesday night with the score of 21-7. Marshal QB Graham Gochneaur scrambled 49 yards into the endzone with one minute 44 seconds left to seal the victory. Butchie Wallace and Earl Charles also had touchdown runs for the Herd, which improved to 7-4 overall and 5-2 in the MAC. UCF, under the direction of interim head coach Alan Gooch, who took over for Mike Kruczek on Monday, fell to 3-8 overall and 2-5 in the MAC.
