Buffalo Bandits

Buffalo's indoor lacrosse team exacted retribution for their only loss of the season with a 14-8 win over the defending NLL Champion Toronto Rock before a season-high crowd of 8,414 fans at the HSBC Arena Saturday night.

Mike Accursi had four goals for Buffalo. John Tavares had seven points, making him the second player to ever pass the 800-point plateau in the history of the league.

With the win, the Bandits maintained sole possession of first place in the Central Division and continue to have the best record in the league. The six-goal win also means that Buffalo holds the tiebreaker over Toronto should the teams finish with identical records.

Buffalo is 4-0 at home. They travel to face Albany Saturday night before coming home to take on the New York Saints at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Buffalo Sabres

Vancouver defeated the Sabres Friday night, 4-2 before a sold-out HSBC Arena. Saturday night Buffalo traveled to Long Island to face the New York Islanders and fell by a 3-1 score.

The Sabres have lost six-straight.

Buffalo Destroyers

Buffalo's Arena Football team notched their first win of the season Sunday with a 44-16 triumph over Carolina. It was the fewest points that the Destroyers have allowed in team history.

Buffalo is now 1-1 on the season and faces Arizona Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at the HSBC Arena.

Men's Swimming

The Buffalo Bulls men's swimming and diving team did something very unique for a UB team this weekend. In fact, they were the only UB team to win a game over the weekend.

Buffalo was able to split a MAC double-dual meet this past Saturday at Alumni Arena. In what was Buffalo's final performances for the season, they were able to knock off Miami (Ohio) by a score of 129-114, but could not complete the sweep as they lost 178-65 against Eastern Michigan.

Buffalo (1-4 MAC, 3-5 overall) was only able to muster one first place finish (Jon Yarger in the 200 freestyle), but was able to record several second place finishes ahead of Miami. And that would be enough to stave them off.
