Athletes of the Week

Emily Dills of the volleyball team has been named UB Female Athlete of the Week for delivering the match-winning ace in Buffalo's 17-15 game five defeat of Toledo. The win snapped the team's 49-game MAC losing streak, which dated back to 1999.

Men's soccer player Geoff Thompson scored two goals in UB's rousing 2-1 defeat of Kentucky, earning him Male Athlete of the Week honors.

Crew

The University at Buffalo's women's crew team sent three squads to the 38th Annual Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston with impressive results turned in by each entry. UB's Varsity Eight boat competed in the Collegiate Women's race and finished fifth in a 34-team field. The Bulls posted a combined time of 17:51.498.

The two other UB entries, the Club Eight and Club Four squads, consisted of a mixture of varsity and novice rowers. The Club Eight entry finished in the middle of the pack, placing 25th and the Club Four team finished 24th out of 51.
Wrestling

Head coach Jim Beichner has announced the Buffalo Bulls wrestling schedule for the 2002-03 season. The Bulls will once again have a highly competitive schedule, with just five home dual meets and several nationally recognized tournaments. The schedule can be viewed on www.BuffaloBulls.com.
