We're all familiar with "Romeo and Juliet," "Hamlet," and "Macbeth." So getting a rare taste of one of Shakespeare's B-side works, "The Winter's Tale," puts the renowned playwright in an entirely new light.UB's production of "The Winter's Tale" will run Nov.

Mest's 'Photographs' best to date

With their energetic pop harmonies, hard beats and fun lyrics, Mest has created a solid sound over the past ten years.After Mest released their first album "Mo' Money Mo' 40'z" in early 1998, they signed with Maverick and released "Wasting Time," "Destination Unknown" and their self-titled album in 2003.Their latest album, "Photographs," continues their musical legacy and widens their expanding fan base.A somewhat mellower album, "Photographs" still has the same raw, heart-driven punk rock sound of years past.

Ross 'forces' laughter at the CFA

The Center for the Arts looked like it was hosting a "Star Wars" convention Monday night, with fans adorned in costume eagerly anticipating the rapid-fire delivery of showman Charles Ross.Attendees poured in to see a one-man rendition of their favorite movie that they're likely to remember.Before the show began, characters from "Star Wars Episode IV," "V," and "VI" were taking pictures in full costume.

"Music lost, nothing gained"

Possibly for the first time, video didn't kill the radio star. But that's because the members of The Sun aren't radio stars yet.After producing two EPs and opening for bands such as the Flaming Lips, Ambulance LTD., RX, Hot Hot Heat and Ok Go, The Sun should know to stick to music.Instead of the normal CD that listeners can buy and play instantly, The Sun decided to make "Blame It On the Youth," their debut album, a full-length DVD of music videos.The DVD contains a mix of videos ranging from Weezer-like dramas to simple tapings of performances.

Like a movie rendition that steals passion and imagination from the book, the movie soundtrack to "Rent" steals the emotion from the original Broadway show soundtrack.Back in 1996, when "Rent" hit Broadway, the play became one of the biggest fads in the New York City area.

A too-common 'odd couple'

Samuel L. Jackson and Eugene Levy: it just doesn't seem right. Judging solely on its cast, "The Man" is going to need an enthralling plot or plenty of sidesplitting scenes to keep audiences interested.Unfortunately, it has neither.Jackson has become a respected actor by playing roles like Jules Winnfield in "Pulp Fiction" and Ordell Robbie in "Jackie Brown."After reaching critical success in the mid-90s for his demanding roles and energetic delivery, his career has taken a nosedive.
