Representing Buffalo well, the Bulls took the Mat Town USA Tournament by storm over the weekend. With seven Bulls finishing in the top three in their weight class, which included two title winners and a pair of co-title winners, the Bulls made their presence known at the tournament in Lock Haven, Penn.
Although plagued by injuries and illness, the Bulls' wrestling squad placed fifth at the Oklahoma Gold Classic on Saturday led by some less familiar grapplers.Bulls' head coach Jim Beichner felt the pressure of the tournament increase throughout the week as he witnessed his players' health diminish."It was a solid tournament we ended up taking fifth place, but unfortunately we did not have our full line up," Beichner said.
It was a solid start to the season as the Bulls defended their home turf this weekend in the Fourth Annual UB Open.
Last week marked a change of events for the Bulls as they witnessed their Mid-American Conference post-season ticket game turn into a season-ender.
Desperately fighting to create a winning Mid-American Conference record, the Bulls faced two tough conference opponents this weekend, and managed success in one of their games.
It was a stellar weekend for the women's soccer team, as it added two road victories to its Mid-American Conference record and a milestone victory for Buffalo's head coach Jean-A.
It was a bittersweet weekend for the Bulls as they notched their first Mid-American Conference win, broke multiple records and also faced defeat.
Disappointed, the Bulls returned home Sunday after being unsuccessful in their first two Mid-American Conference games of the season.
Playing at the Cornell Invitational last weekend left the Bulls seeing red as its record breaking winning streak was halted this past weekend.
