The women's soccer team rushes to celebrate with sophomore goalkeeper Laura Dougall (1) after the Bulls defeated Central Michigan to advance to the Mid-American Conference Tournament Semifinals last season. The Bulls announced their 2016 recruiting class Thursday.

UB women’s soccer announces recruiting class

On Thursday, head coach Shawn Burke announced his four-player class, three of whom are from New York and one from Ontario, for the 2016 season. The Bulls added Kara Daly, a forward from nearby Orchard Park, Mairead Martin of Mahopac, New York, Adrianna Van Cuyck, a midfielder from Walworth, New York and Gurjeena Jandu, a defender from Mississauga, Ontario.

UB women's soccer headed back to MAC Semifinals

The No. 3 seed Bulls (11-6-3, 7-3-1 Mid-American Conference) defeated No. 6 seed Central Michigan 3-1 in a shootout to advance to the MAC Tournament Semifinals. The Bulls will play No. 2 seed Western Michigan (11-3-5, 8-1-2) on the road in the semifinals Friday looking to advance to the Championship game and win their second-straight MAC Championship.

Men’s soccer (6-5-4, 1-1-1 Mid-American Conference) Riding the high of a victory over conference rival West Virginia (6-9, 1-2 MAC) last week, Buffalo left Dekalb, Illinois with a tie.

The best of the UB Bulls

With most of Buffalo’s Division-I sports in the thick of Mid-American Conference play, each team is still in contention for their respective conference titles. Of course, it’s a whole team effort, including the coaching staff, to get a team in position to compete for a championship. But each squad has standout performers that have helped take it to the next level.

Back to back: UB women’s soccer looks to repeat as MAC Champions

Last season, the Bulls finished with a record of 16-3-3, won their first-ever Mid-American Conference Championship while earning the program’s first-ever NCAA Tournament bid in the process. And with the 2015-16 season underway, the Bulls (2-2) are poised to defend their title as MAC champions – even with the loss of many team-changing seniors.
