No excuse

This is an embarrassment. It has been over three weeks since HealthCare.gov - the website for the new health care law - opened and it has yet to become fully functional.

A flawed experiment

It was recently announced that California's public university system has proposed a plan to begin charging higher tuition rates for high-demand classes. This is ludicrous. What has been proposed is undeniably unjust.

The horrors of the classroom

We have all had terrifying classroom experiences and teachers have in an important role. It is worth noting that all relationships of teachers to students are relationships of power and authority. The power that teachers possess has a way of inducing fear in even the most strong willed of students.

The feeling

It's sad that as president of my sorority, I often have to beg people to participate in philanthropy events.

A presidential evasion

Last week, in his State of the University address, President Satish Tripathi gave another of his now infamous cookie-cutter speeches. He talked a lot of fluff about UB 2020 and its progress, and he talked a lot about the future.

A time for wagon circling

It is usually at this time of the season that fans' expectations drop radically. By now, at the conclusion of Week Six, we usually have an idea and an image of what our team is. The Buffalo Bills' 2-4 record is disappointing, however, it does not reflect the potential this team has demonstrated thus far. It is important to recognize that this is a rebuilding year.

Orange lipstick: A guide to autumn day-party outfits

Combat boots, thigh-high stockings, a cropped white top, denim overalls and orange lipstick. From the bottom up, this look screams, "trend." Buffalo's weather has been bipolar this fall; one day, students are wearing winter jackets and heavy leggings around campus, and the next, they're wearing denim shorts and tank tops. You should rock the specific look I mentioned in the first sentence of this article on those not-so-chilly days.

Default is not an option

It is time that congressional leaders put an end to this impasse. We need more than just an end, however; we need a real resolution. Offers from House Republicans to cut a deal that postpones our default rather than dealing with it now are unacceptable.

Money matters

The Supreme Court began its new term on Monday. So far, the highest court of the land has agreed to hear more than 50 cases.
