To the editor: The editors were correct in attempting to address UB's parking problem ("Something must be done about parking on campus", Friday). However, the proposed solutions consisted mostly of adding more parking spaces.

The questionable integrity of the NCAA

Last week, NFL star Reggie Bush relinquished the Heisman Trophy, the annual award given to college football's best player, after a scandal revealed that he accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars from agents during his time at the University of Southern California. Although this had nothing to do with Bush's football accomplishments, Bush broke the NCAA's strict rules.

Over the weekend, the New York Times provided an extensive report on the ethical dilemmas inherent in treating those involved in the clinical testing of new treatments and drugs. The article described the circumstances of two victims of melanoma, a deadly skin cancer that takes on average eight months to prove fatal.
