Ten Questions With Reggie Witherspoon

Reggie Witherspoon heads into his fifth season as the skipper of the Buffalo Bulls men's basketball team this Friday against Canisius, and recently I had the opportunity to ask him a few questions about the upcoming season.Q: Are you getting anxious for the start of the season, or is it the more time to prepare the better?A: You know, we've been using that word anxious a lot, I hope we're not too anxious because as a team that can do some bad things.

Dena-kay Martin's column, "Where Will Protesters Be After the Baby Is Born?" in the Nov. 17 issue, is very disturbing, and I quote: "' ... The surgeon inserts a sharp object into the back of the fetus' head and inserts a vacuum tube through which the brains and its fluids are extracted.

New Student-Wide Judiciary Justices Approved

The Student Association Assembly approved 10 new Student-Wide Judiciary justices at Tuesday night's meeting.Chief Justice Paul Verzillo, in a brief introduction, said the 10 candidates for justices were hand picked by the current justices for what he described as their trainability to fill hours in the judicial schedule.The 10 nominees were Tim Altieri, Anthonia Barake, Staceyann Freckleton, Jessica Mccarthy, Mathew Ringelstetter, Ben Robboy, Scott Schmidt, Michelle Schwach, Bill Sherlock and Agnes Wilewicz.

As U.S. media outlets continue daily broadcasts from the Iraq battleground, experts from across the world convened at the Center for the Arts for a conference on war and media.The conference, held Monday and Tuesday, was designed to analyze the relationship between the media and war through cultural, artistic and academic perspectives.In the context of world events, there was a clear focus to the conference -- media coverage of the terrorist attacks of recent wars in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Bollywood Mania

Bollywood mania exploded on Villa Maria College on Saturday night as the ninth annual "Muqabala" brought the crowd to a feverish pitch with Indian songs and dances."Muqabala is an intercollegiate dance and song competition where many schools compete and show off their various talents and the best school wins," said Sameera Sreepada, a junior business major and president of the Indian Student Association.The word "Muqabala" means "fight" in Hindi.

Where Will Protestors Be After the Baby Is Born?

When first hearing the term "partial birth abortion," my mind conjured up images of a tiny baby fighting its way through the birth canal and just as it sticks its little head into the world, a doctor plunges a syringe full of poison into its neck and it dies.Based on that mental image, anyone would think the act barbaric, but I decided to postpone my final judgment until I learned more about this method of abortion.Despite my resolve to become informed, the last time I dedicated a substantial amount of thought to partial birth abortion was late October when the U.S.
