Shortstop looks to help team chalk up wins

It's not hard to see why coaches and players alike are singing the praises of Bulls shortstop Joe Mihalics.The senior, who has earned two consecutive team MVP awards after recording back to back .340 seasons, will look to be the first member of UB's baseball team after he graduates this spring."I think without question (he'll go to the pros)," said Bulls' head coach Bill Breene.

Suspicious of candidate's motives

While it will be up to the legal branch of our student governments, the Student-wide Judiciary, and not journalists to decide if Elevation candidate Mazin Kased acted inappropriately, if they will even hear the case, this is not the main problem here ("Outside candidates face obstacles as election nears," March 25).First there is the fact that no one has asked how the recording of the conversation with Mazin came about.

Elevation '05 sweeps election

The Elevation '05 Party swept the Student Association election this week but face charges of bribery, slander and perjury from the losing Reform Our Campus party.The members of Elevation '05 elected to office were Dela Yador for SA president, Sonia Kang as SA vice president, and Mazin Kased as SA Treasurer.Laura London, Peter Rizzo, Brittany Shapiro and Mercedes Tavarez were elected to SUNY SA delegate positions.A low turnout of 1,577 total voters, which is less than 10 percent of the student population, voiced their opinion in the polls Tuesday through Thursday.

Liederman leads men's tennis

With a flair for the dramatic, the men's tennis team took down the Toledo Rockets on Saturday night at the Village Glen Tennis Center in Williamsville.Their second Mid-American Conference match of the year saw the Bulls (5-7 overall, 1-1 MAC) come up with a big comeback against the Rockets (6-9 overall, 0-1 MAC).Due to more than three hours of high-level tennis the match was not only a physical fight, but a mental battle as well, and the Bulls came out on top."This week the team was determined to work hard keeping up an amazing display of intensity in practice.
