UB gone 'wild'

The great outdoors will be brought to your front yard as UB hosts its third annual Outdoor Pursuits "Wildweek," a weeklong program intended to inform students of the outdoor programming available through UB.Outdoor Pursuits is a part of Recreation and Intramural Services and is basically the outdoor facet of intramurals, according to Russ Crispell, the assistant recreation director for Outdoor Pursuits."Wildweek is an opportunity to kick-start the school year in terms of letting students know that we have programming for outdoor education and outdoor activities," Crispell said.

Men's soccer dominates Seina for fourth straight win

The Bulls are on a roll. The UB men's soccer team scored three times in a span of less than 20 minutes and controlled the ball for most of the game to shut out the Siena Saints 3-0 on Sunday.A superior defensive effort held Siena to only two shots on goal throughout the entire game.Second-half goals from junior midfielder Erik Jaanimagi, a well struck header from junior forward Shyle Braithwaite, and a nice one-timer from sophomore forward Lee Catchpole sealed a commanding victory.Both teams were held scoreless in the first half, however the Bulls dominated the field, barely letting Siena on their defensive side.

Moving on from 9/11

With Hurricane Katrina's catastrophe dominating the news, and the inevitable effects of time on memory, it seems 9/11 memorials have thinned out in the four years since the attacks that killed thousands.This year marks the first time since 9/11 that UB itself did not host some sort of vigil or service for the community in memory of the attacks.
