Spying akin to witch hunt

A few days ago Fabio Albertin ("Spying program helps find our enemies," Jan. 23) wrote that "many liberals have become so extreme and have fallen so deeply in love with so-called extreme Muslim or communist ideologies that they have come very close to being enemies of America themselves." If Albertin is on a witch-hunt for signs of extremism, he should look in the mirror.

Students climb iPrint learning curve

In the Cybrary on the second floor of Lockwood Library, students are learning how to use UB's new print allocation system while administrators work out the kinks in preparation for expanding it campus-wide in August.When the new iPrint program is completely installed in every computer lab and library on campus, it will limit each UB student, faculty and staff member to print 650 pages per semester.

Bulls regain winning ways

Just when some think the Bulls are down and out, they seem to find a way to bounce back.After a devastating loss to Central Michigan on Saturday, the men's basketball team headed to an arena where they've never won before, turned the ball over almost 30 times, yet still pulled out a 76-73 victory over the Bowling Green Falcons.The first half was the Andy Robinson and Calvin Cage show as guard duo shined.

Freshman parking limits become permanent

After running a pilot program last semester that banned freshmen residential students from parking along the Academic Spine, officials said they are pleased with the program's results and will keep it in place this semester.The program was instituted in response to consistent complaints of insufficient parking on campus.

Comedian Albert Brooks completely monopolized the creation of "Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World." He fills the role of screenwriter and director, as well as taking the liberty of playing himself.The movie begins with an asinine assignment given by former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson, who recruits Brooks to conduct a study of Muslim humor in order to augment the United States' intelligence of the Middle East.Based on the premise of the movie, viewers may be mislead into thinking that the plot line is garnished with substantial comedy.
