Every academic year, outstanding seniors in the University at Buffalo’s College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) are recognized for their service to the university and their high GPAs. The 26 recipients will receive a personalized medal and certificate, which will be presented to the students at the CAS commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 17 at 10 a.m.

Approximately 550 students were forced out of Red Jacket Hall, one of the six quadrangles in the Ellicott Complex, Wednesday after flooding caused a power outage. Students were offered housing for the night in the Triple Gym of Alumni Arena.

Approximately 500 students were forced out of Red Jacket Hall, one of the six quadrangles in the Ellicott Complex, Wednesday after a frozen sprinkler head caused a power outage.
Cold temperatures caused a sprinkler line to break and drip water into an electrical room, which damaged a single panel that shut down the electricity and heat in the building Wednesday around 7 a.m. Power returned around 11 p.m. that night and students were allowed to re-enter building early Thursday morning.

I am standing in The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe with my study abroad group from the University of Buffalo and watching as people openly start to cry. They are remembering the six million Jews the Nazis systematically murdered from 1938-45. This monument is near the Brandenburg Gate, the city’s most iconic monument. It stands directly in the path of all tourists who visit this city.
