UB Women's Swimming

The Buffalo women's swimming and diving team earned a 173-127 victory over St. Bonaventure Wednesday night at Bona's Reilly Center.

The Bulls, powered by Jennefer Brankovsky and Jolie Pun, won nine of the 16 events in the meet. Brankovsky took the 100-yard butterfly, the 200 breaststroke and the 200 individual medley in the Bulls victory.

Pun won both the 100 and 500 yard freestyle events.

UB's Ashlee Burton took the one-meter diving competition, with teammate Tracy Hoover placing second. The two switched positions in the three-meter event. The win improves Buffalo's record to 5-2.

Girls and Women in Sports Day

Olympic Gold Medalist Dominique Dawes will highlight UB's 14th annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day, which begins on Feb. 4.

The celebration, which runs through Feb. 14, will feature presentations, panel discussions and the presentation of the UB Recognition Award to former UB President William R. Greiner and his wife Carol.

Tickets are available for the event on February 11 that includes Dawes, the Greiners and a multitude of student-athletes. In between all the fanfare will be a women's basketball game against Kent State.
