Athletes of the Week named

Freshman 149-pound grappler Jason Hilliard and senior thrower Sarah Vance of the track team were named Athletes of the Week.

Hilliard claimed the 149-pound title at the New York State Collegiate Championships this past weekend. His 6-4 victory over Columbia's Matt Dunn won the championship and helped the Bulls to a 3rd place overall finish in the event. His 4-0 record at the event improved Hilliard to 19-7 on the season.

Vance set the Buffalo record as well as the Cornell Fieldhouse record with her shot put distance of 50-8 feet at Saturday's Cornell Upstate Challenge. The shot put distance also reached the NCAA threshold for qualification in the collegiate championships. In the 20-pound weight throw Vance also reached a mark of 58-1.25 feet, which also qualifies her for Eastern College Athletic Conference.

Next in line for Idbihi to overtake will be Calvin Cage and his career total of 1,314 points. Rasaun Young holds the all-time record with 1,908 points.
