Buffalo to Host Youngstown State in 2008 O'Reilly ESPNU BracketBusters

The Bulls men's basketball team will host Youngstown State in the 2008 O'Reilly ESPNU BracketBusters on Feb. 23 at Alumni Arena.

This is the fifth year the Bulls are participating in the event, as well as the second straight season that they are hosting the event. The Bulls are 2-2 in BracketBuster games after defeating Indiana State in 2004 and Fresno State in 2005, while falling to Iona in 2006 and Detroit in 2007.

The Bulls and Youngstown State last faced off against each other on Dec. 6, 2003 at Alumni Arena. The Bulls defeated the Penguins, 86-66.

Youngstown State, a member of the Horizon League, is 7-15 on the season. The Penguins have dropped six straight games.

The start time for the game is to be determined.

UB Holding National Signing Day Event on Wednesday

For the first time in school history, the public will be invited to UB's National Football Signing Day. Head coach Turner Gill will announce his 2008 recruiting class in a free event to the public at Alumni Arena on Feb. 6 at 6:30 p.m. For those unable to attend, the event will be streamed live on buffalobulls.com.

Due to NCAA rules and regulations, the new recruits are prohibited from being in attendance, but the event will announce the class to the public, as well as show highlights from each of the newest Bulls.

In addition to the National Signing Day announcements, there will be other events occurring at Alumni Arena for the public to enjoy. Current members of the UB football team will be on hand to sign autographs, including Davonte Shannon, Naaman Roosevelt, James Starks, Jeff Niedermier, and Drew Willy.
