UB Division of Athletics

The UB Division of Athletics announced that it will be hosting a memorial service for the late Nan Harvey. The service will take place at 7 p.m. October 6 in the Center for the Arts. Harvey, who was involved with UB athletics as a player, coach and finally an administrator, lost her battle with cancer Sept. 2 at the age of 46.

UB Extreme Zone II

The Division of Athletics announced the UB Extreme Zone II will take place Saturday at 4 p.m. in Alumni Arena. The event was moved indoors because of concerns about the weather. Performing at this year's event will be action sports stars like Bucky Lasek, Ryan Nyquist, Bob Burnquist and Dave Mirra. Last year, the event, which featured skateboarding god Tony Hawk, drew more than 17,000 people to the show and football game against UConn. Also joining Mirra and cmpany are inline skater Eito Yasutoko, skateboarder Danny Mayer, pro skater Marc Englehart and rising BMX star Koji Kraft. There will also be an encore performance of the show 30 minutes after the game.

UB Volleyball

The UB Volleyball team announced that because of Hurricane Isabel, they will no longer be taking place in the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Tournament. Instead, the team will travel to Bucknell to take part in a three-way tournament. The Bulls will play the Bucknell Bisons at noon Saturday and take on the Stony Brook Sea Wolves at 2:30 p.m. Bucknell was supposed to play in a tournament in Baltimore, Md., which was cancelled as well.
