Mid-American Conference.
The Mid-American Conference extended a full-membership invitation to the University of Central Florida Wednesday. The Golden Knights already compete in the MAC for football, but 15 other UCF sports can now take part in conference play starting in the 2004-05 season. Joining the league would give Central Florida, a school of 42,000 students, eligibility for MAC championships and the league's automatic NCAA tournament bids.
