Quick exit
It was a short-lived stint at the Mid-American Conference Tournament for the Buffalo men's tennis team. The team fell 4-0 to Northern Illinois and failed to make it to the second round of the tournament for the third-straight season.
The Bulls were seeded fourth in the tournament and ended the 2005-06 schedule with a 11-9 record. The game also was the last that Russ Crispell coached, as he is retiring.
Bulls and Bonnies split series
Buffalo headed to Olean, N.Y., for a two-game series with St. Bonaventure and returned to Queen City having split the series.
The Bulls took the first game, 3-1. Buffalo got on the board early with an RBI single from junior pitcher Sophie Barstad. Laura Kor drove in both Marcy Hansen and Dana Carter in the fifth to give the Bulls two additional runs and the victory.
St. Bonaventure did not go down easily in the second game and took the victory from the Bulls, 5-4. The Bonnies led early by a score of 2-1 in the bottom of the second but Buffalo rallied back for three runs in two innings. The Bonnies tied the score in the bottom of the fifth and secured the victory with a run in the bottom of the seventh.
