MAC Football
Saturday was a huge day for the Mid-American Conference, as three MAC teams beat nationally ranked opponents. The biggest win of the day was MarshallOs 27-20 win over the No.6 Kansas State Wildcats. Meanwhile, Bruce Gradowski threw for 461 yards and three touchdowns as Toledo stunned No.9 Pittsburgh. In another shocker, Northern IllinoisO Michael Turner carried 27 times for 157 yards in the HuskiesO win over No. 21 Alabama. The MACOs only loss against a ranked opponent came when Ohio State beat Bowling Green 24-17.
UB WomenOs Soccer
The Bulls were shutout for the first time this year as they fell to Central Michigan, 3-0. The Bulls outshot CMU 21-11 but were unable to beat ChippewasO goaltender Anne Decker. Sophomore forward Natalia Crofut had four shots for the Bulls, while Emily Russell and Jenny Dannecker each had three. With the loss, the Bulls fall to 5-3-0 on the year and 1-2-0 in the MAC.
UB MenOs Soccer
UB opened the Army Classic with a 1-1 tie against the Army Black Knights. Andrae Clark continued his stellar freshman campaign, notching the BullsO only goal of the game. The goal, which was assisted by Mirnes Biscevic, was ClarkOs team leading third of the year. BullsO goalie Brandon Foley allowed just one goal in 110 minutes of play.
