Still unprepared for disaster

Letter to the Editor

So, within two weeks of four years after 9/11, we're totally unprepared for a large-scale emergency recovery and relief effort for a devastated major American city? It takes them days to jerry-rig a response to repair hurricane damage, which we can anticipate (unlike WMD attacks)? The supplies and troops have to be found and coordinated while thousands die?

And also, giving tax cuts to the rich when there are thousands of people too poor to leave a city that is about to drown - isn't that tantamount to criminal negligence, if not murder? At the very least, is it dereliction of duty from people who are supposed to protect and care for us?
