Bailey earns MAC honors
Midfielder Lindsey Bailey of the women's soccer team was named to the Mid-American Conference All-Freshman team. She had six points, which were tied for fourth highest on the team. Bailey's two goals, which included the game-winner in a 1-0 victory over Central Michigan on Oct. 21, were fourth on the team. Bailey finished with a shot on goal percentage of .727, with 16 shots on goal out of 22 total shots.
The other members of the All-Freshman team include Bowling Green's Alexa Arsenault, Jackie Tamerlana and Meagan Moran, Kristina Anderson and Courtney Coombs of Ball State, Stephanie Janssens and Maggie Manville of Eastern Michigan, Josee Charron of Kent State, Ohio's Jackie Hanson, Sara Lund and Julie Thompson of Miami, and Erin Flynn of Toledo.
Athletes of the Week
Junior guard Greg Gamble of the men's basketball team was named Men's Athlete of the Week after averaging 19 points in the 2K Sports College Hoops Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer last week. Gamble scored a career-high 25 points in the Bulls' win over Ohio Valley on Wednesday night and led Buffalo with 13 points against Connecticut on Thursday in the region's championship game. Gamble also had five assists, five steals, and X rebounds in the two games.
Andrea Lehner was named Women's Athlete of the Week for her efforts in the Bulls' swim meet against Mid-American Conference rivals Eastern Michigan and Ball State. The sophomore won five individual events and was a member of a winning relay team in the two meets. Lehner broke a school record in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:56.28 had also had her best marks of the year in the 200-yard individual medley and in the 100-yard freestyle.
