Gill makes changes to defensive staff
After Buffalo's championship season, head coach Turner Gill has made some changes to his defensive coaching staff.
Jimmy Williams, Buffalo's defensive coordinator and linebackers coach did not have his contract renewed. In his place, defensive secondary coach Fred Reed was promoted to the defensive coordinator position.
"Coach Reed's experience in the NFL and having been a coordinator previously, as well as his year here, have proven his abilities," Gill said in a press release. "In addition, he has shown that he has a great relationship with our players; therefore, I believe that he was the best person to help us move this program forward."
Reed has 15 years of coaching experience overall. Prior to his first year at Buffalo, Reed spent two years with the Detroit Lions.
