Men's tennis victorious
The men's tennis team was victorious over the weekend as they won all three matches that they played. On Friday, Buffalo rallied from a 3-2 deficit to defeat Mid-American Conference rival Northern Illinois 4-3. The Bulls hosted a doubleheader on Saturday against MAC foe IPFW and battled Marist in the nightcap. Buffalo was successful in both matches, winning 5-2 in the afternoon and defeating Marist 4-3 later that day. Singles play was strong on Saturday as the Bulls won five of six against IPFW, and four of six against Marist. Buffalo has won four straight matches and improved their overall record to 8-11 and 2-2 in MAC play.
Sabres split at home
The Buffalo Sabres lost game 2 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals on Saturday night against the New York Islanders 3-2. Marc-Andre Bergeron scored the game-winning goal to help tie the series at 1-1. The Sabres now have lost home-ice advantage and will have to win one on Long Island to regain it. Both teams will battle Monday night to take the lead in the best of seven series.
Bandits second seed for playoffs
The Buffalo Bandits finished the regular season over the weekend. They lost both games of a home and home series with local rival the Rochester Knighthawks. On Friday night, Rochester defeated Buffalo 14-10, and won on Saturday 14-8. The Bandits will be the number two seed for the playoffs. Their overall record is 10-6 and they will host the Minnesota Swarm at HSBC arena on Sunday, April 22.
