Bell named MAC scholar-athlete
Daniel Bell, junior goalkeeper for the men's soccer team, received another Mid-American Conference honor on Wednesday as he was named MAC Scholar-Athlete of the week. Bell touts a 3.503 GPA as a political science major. He currently sits atop the MAC with four shutouts on the season and is leading the nation with seven wins. In addition to Bell's individual success the men's soccer team has also moved up in its regional ranking to third in the New York State area.
WLVL broadcasts will be delayed
WLVL 1340 has announced they will expand their broadcast of UB athletics beginning with a women's soccer game on September 23 against Miami (Ohio) and then with a men's soccer game on September 30 against Canisius. Although both games will begin at 7 p.m., the broadcasts will be on tape-delay, following high school football games. WLVL's expanded coverage will also include all women's basketball games, four volleyball matches and six other events yet to be announced.
