The Buffalo News reports that the UB football team has begun changing its direction to be not only a sports team, but a profitable business in the collegiate athletics world as well.

UB is reportedly aiming to back out of previously scheduled games against the University of West Virginia and Rutgers University, in order to schedule games against Bowl Championship Series teams.

The Bulls are attempting to build a bigger out-of-conference schedule that will field larger paydays. The Buffalo News estimates that Buffalo could earn a seven-figure sum by canceling the Rutgers and West Virginia games and adding three games against BCS teams.

Though the team has not officially released its schedule, The Buffalo News has also reported that the Bulls are in talks to play at the University of Wisconsin.

To back out of the deal with the West Virginia Mountaineers, which was made by former Buffalo Athletic Director Bob Arkeilpane, The Buffalo News has reported that the Bulls will be required to pay a $200,000 termination fee.
