It's been in economic decline now for years. New projects seem to start up with a blustering whirlwind only to die a quiet death. Everything starts but nobody finishes.
The city of Buffalo has had its share of good times, unlike any other. The highest of highs are usually followed immediately by the lowest of lows. And we hang onto those lows for a long time.

Sure the casino is still up in the air and we've been waiting for a new Peace Bridge for years, but it could be a lot worse, couldn't it?
Buffalo certainly isn't the nicest city in the world, but it's ours.
We may try to turn a blind eye to its imperfections and defects but in the end we end up embracing many of them. But for every blemish, there are several bright spots.

If you're from the area, you probably know about most of this stuff. You've been there and done that for some, and there are probably a few others that you've taken for granted. There might even be something here that you didn't know about. Who else knew about Staples?
If you're new to Buffalo, you should definitely stop by some of these locations. You might even be able to find the best spot to get away from yourself.
The area has so much more to offer than you would even realize. A few miles north is Niagara Falls and a few miles south you can find some of the best ski slopes around. Maybe you'll take up frolf after reading this issue.
And don't forget about the food. We've got some of the best dishes and menu items you'll find anywhere.
For the natives, don't be afraid to show the new guys around. Buffalo is known as the City of Good Neighbors. Prove it.
The people of Western New York are among the friendliest and most passionate you'll find anywhere in the country. They stand for what they believe in.
Celebrate all the good the area has to offer. Enjoy the warm weather locales before the snow drifts in. Then take full advantage of those cold weather hot spots once the weather turns.
There's a lot to do in our little corner of New York, it's just a matter of finding the hidden gems and taking the time to enjoy it all.
