Sophomore cross-country runner Mary Veith was named the Mid-American Conference Female Scholar Athlete of the Week.
Veith, who majors in chemistry with a 3.879 grade point average, won her first collegiate cross-country individual title on Sept. 16 at the Toledo Invitational and finished in third at the UB Stampede Invitational on Sept. 23. Veith was the second Buffalo student-athlete to earn this honor this season.
She was named female UB Athlete of the Week for her efforts at both meets, as well.
Senior runner Dan McKenna was named male Student Athlete of the Week. McKenna also had a banner week as he won the individual title at the UB Stampede Invitational, which led the Bulls to the team championship. McKenna's time of 27:04.90 led a herd of three Bulls who finished in the top three at the event.
