Second day of SA presidential elections underway

UPDATE: As of 11:49 a.m., 1,385 students have voted in the election, officials said.

Voting continues on Thursday to elect a Student Association president after former President Hassan Farah was recalled from office.

Farah is running again against his former vice president and acting President Ernesto Alvarado, as well as Abraham C.L. Munson-Ellis and Joseph Assaf.

"As always, we're getting across our points," Farah said. "Students are being informed and a lot of them are changing their minds and views on the pretext."

Alvarado said things were running well on Thursday, with more people out campaigning.

"We're hoping students realize I'm the best choice for the job," Alvarado said. "I'm hoping we can move forward with a new vision and a new direction without a tarnished history."

Voting will continue until 6 p.m. in the Student Union Theater.
