In preperation for Los Angeles Times columnist Steve Lopez's visit to the University at Buffalo on Thursday, the English Department is giving the students a taste of why he's visiting the university in the first place.
On Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the Student Union Theater, the department will be holding a screening of The Soloist, a film based off the novel written by Lopez about his interaction with a musical genius on the streets of Los Angeles.
Following the screening will be a discussion with Dr. David Schmid, acting chair of the department.
Snacks will be provided.
