U.S. reneges on defense of Eastern Europe

The latest buzz topic in Washington is the United States missile defense shield in Eastern Europe. President Obama, with backing from Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, his national security team and senior military leadership, decided to scrap the ground based interceptor missiles in Poland and Czech Republic.

Only one pro-Palestine protester has been charged with an actual criminal offense: resisting arrest, a misdemeanor. The rest are facing non-criminal, violation-level charges.
